Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment on our plans to expand Scout Moor Wind Farm during our consultation in July and August 2014. We received some really useful feedback and in response we are making a few changes including removing and relocating some of the proposed new turbines.
These changes will reduce the generating capacity of the expanded wind farm to less than 50MW. The proposed turbines will now stand-alone with an entirely separate grid connection and substation which means the project is no longer a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project.
As a result, we now plan to publish our revised proposals for the wind farm expansion in November 2014 and submit a planning application to Rochdale and Rossendale Borough Councils early next year in accordance with the 1990 Town and Country Planning Act.
In the meantime...
- We are currently undertaking further technical work including Environmental Impact Assessment of our revised proposal
- We will publish our revised proposal and request feedback in November 2014
- We are preparing our planning application for submission in early 2015.
